Geodecity

Destination: Geodecity
Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th August 2007

Abandon your old homes and travel with us to the future!

Reactor invite you to sign up and become citizens of Destination: Geodecity. As pioneers reaching this ideal ‘future city’, you will be involved in the visioning of utopia, whilst simultaneously laying the foundations from which it will be built.

Rather than being a vague, impossible dream, this is a coherent programme for action that can be achieved in a weekend. This is a practical project, focusing on a lived experience: participants will work, sleep and play in this new reality. Your input will shape its future, but one thing is already known: the geodesic dome – the classic design of architect and visionary R. Buckminster Fuller – will form the building blocks of this future. From this form, a new city will take shape.

Destination: Geodecity presents a bold, new direction for humanity that entails nothing less than a quantum leap in both thought and action. This weekend long workshop does not reflect the dreams of impractical idealists; it proposes to translate these ideals into a working reality.

Transport to a rural location, will leave from city centre locations in Derby, Leicester and Nottingham at 13:00 on Saturday 4th August and drop back at 14:00 on Sunday 5th August.
Destination: Geodecity is the first Reactor project to involve participants in an overnight stay and therefore this event is for over 18’s only.
All necessary food and shelter will be provided.
Attendance of this event is free but booking is essential.
