Destination: GeodecityInstalled Dome City - Morley Quarry, LeicestershireMonday 6th – Sunday 19th August 2007Over the weekend of the 4th - 5th August 2007, a new city arose from the ashes of the failed world. Geodecity was built and inhabited by Geo-Pioneers undertaking a pilgrimage to utopia. Geodesic domes were collectively built to house the new community. A BBC report of the weekend can be found on
YouTubeSeven of these domes now remain at Morley Quarry as relics of this lived society, open for the public to view and explore, and for them to imagine what life must have been like for this pioneering community.
Morley Quarry can be accessed from Junction 23 of the M1 near Shepshed in North Leicestershire.
Destination: GeodecityAbandon your old homes and travel with us to the future!Saturday 4th – Sunday 5th August 2007Update The Nottingham transport is now fully booked, places are still available from Leicester and Derby if you are willing to travel from these locations.
Reactor invite you to sign up and become citizens of Destination: Geodecity. As pioneers reaching this ideal ‘future city’, you will be actively involved in designing and building utopia. Rather than a vague impossible dream, here is a coherent programme for action that can be achieved in a weekend.
